الجيريان اكسبرس: قال الديمقراطي إليوت إنغل، رئيس لجنة الشؤون الخارجية في مجلس النواب الأمريكي، إنه سيطلب توضيحات من إدارة دونالد ترامب بشأن عملية “غزو” غامضة أحبطتها فنزويلا.

وأضاف: “الكونغرس بحاجة للحصول على إجابات، ونريدها الآن”.

وتابع إنغل، في تغريدة على “تويتر”: “نريد أن نعرف، هل تم خرق قوانين الولايات المتحدة من قبل مواطنين وشركات أمريكية، وهل كان أي من عناصر حكومة الولايات المتحدة، على علم بما كان يحصل”.

واشتكى إنغل، من أن وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، تجاهلت طلبه للحصول على إيجاز بشأن القضية.

وقال إنغل: “نحتاج إلى معلومات عن كل متعاقد أمني خاص، عقد اجتماعات في الولايات المتحدة على صلة بالعملية المحتملة في فنزويلا، ونحتاج لمعرفة إن كانت إدارة ترامب على علم بهذه الاتصالات”.

وبينما ينخرط الديمقراطيون في الكونغرس، في سجالات مع ترامب بشأن مجموعة واسعة من القضايا، إلا أنهم يتفقون معه في معارضة الرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو.
