الجيريان اكسبرس: في أدنى حصيلة يومية منذ أسابيع، سجلت الولايات المتحدة، السبت، 382 وفاة جديدة من جراء فيروس كورونا خلال 24 ساعة، وفق ما أعلنت جامعة “جونز هوبكنز”.

والولايات المتحدة، البلد الأكثر تضرراً من حيث عدد الوفيات بأكثر من 117 ألف حالة وفاة، وكذلك الإصابات بعدما وصل الإجمالي إلى أكثر من مليونين و100 ألف حالة، وفق بيانات الجامعة.

ومنذ نهاية شهر مايو، نادراً ما بات عدد الوفيّات اليوميّة بفيروس كورونا يتجاوز الألف حالة في الولايات المتحدة.

وحتى قبل شهر، كانت 3 ولايات تقع على الساحل الشرقي للبلاد هي نيويورك ونيوجيرسي وماساتشوستس تضم وحدها نصف عدد الوفيات المسجّلة في سائر أنحاء الولايات المتّحدة، لكن بعد ذلك انتقلت بؤرة الوباء إلى ولايات الغرب الأوسط والجنوب وقسم من الغرب.

وتجري الولايات المتحدة يومياً نصف مليون فحص مخبري لكشف المصابين بالفيروس.

ووفقاً لمقياس وضعه باحثون في جامعة ماساتشوستس استناداً إلى 11 نموذجا وبائيا، يتوقّع أن يبلغ عدد الوفيات بمرض كوفيد-19 في الولايات المتحدة 130 ألفا بحلول 4 يوليو، وهو عيد استقلال الولايات المتحدة.
