تشهد جميع أنحاء شرق الولايات المتحدة استنفارا بسبب حشرة غريبة تدعى “الفانوس المرقط”، يقول خبراء إنها قادمة من آسيا.

وقال موقع “بوي جينيوس ريبورت” إن “الفانوس المرقط يعيث فسادا في أميركا”، مضيفا أنها قادمة من آسيا على متن السفن ومختلف وسائل الشحن.

وأوضح المصدر أن هذا النوع من الحشرات يقضي على النباتات والحدائق والحقول الزراعية، مشيرا إلى أنه “يمثل تهديدا لأكثر من 70 نوعا نباتيا”.

وتابع “ذبابة الفانوس تستهدف العنب وأشجار التفاح وعشبة الدينار، الأمر الذي قد يؤثر بشكل ملحوظ ومباشر على عملية إنتاج الأطعمة التي تعتمد على هذه المحاصيل”.

وحث المسؤولون في الساحل الشرقي المواطنين على “البحث على هذا النوع من الحشرات وقتلها على الفور إذا لزم الأمر”.

وقال أحد المسؤولين، في بيان: “تشكل هذه الذبابة تهديدا مقلقا للبيئة والزراعة في ولاية نيويورك”.

وأضاف “أحث الجميع على العمل الجاد واتخاذ الخطوات الضرورية لإبطاء انتشارها”.

يشار إلى أنه ليس من الشائع أن يحث المسؤولون البيئيون على قتل الحشرات، لكن وضع “الفانوس المرقط” يبدو أنه مختلف تماما.
