اكتشف علماء أمريكيون، أن الصور التفصيلية تعيق الأطفال الذين أعمارهم 6-8 سنوات من التركيز على النص وفهمه.

وتشير صحيفة Daily Mail، إلى أن الخبراء توصلوا إلى استنتاج مفاده، أن الصور الملونة (وخاصة إذا كانت كثيرة) التي تهدف إلى تحفيز القراء المبتدئين، غالبا ما يكون تاثيرها عكسيا، لأنها تشتت انتباه الطفل.

فمثلا، تشير آنا فيشر من جامعة كارنيغي ميلون في بنسلفانيا، إلى أنها طلبت مع زملائها من البالغين اختيار الصور غير الضرورية لفهم المعنى المنشور في كتاب للأطفال.

وبعد إزالة الصور من النصف الثاني من النص، أعطي الكتاب لأطفال أعمارهم 6-8 سنوات، واتضح من متابعتهم باستخدام جهاز متابعة النظرات، عند قراءتهم لجزء الكتاب المحذوفة منه الصور، أنه جعل انتباههم أقل تشتتا وزاد فهمهم للمعنى.

وتقول فيشر، “إذا اتخذنا خطوات بسيطة لتسهيل قراءة الأطفال وإزالة بعض العقبات، فسوف نساعدهم على التعامل بصورة أفضل مع المواد المطبوعة، والحصول على متعة أكبر”.
