الجيريان اكسبرس: أعيد انتخاب الديموقراطيّة نانسي بيلوسي رئيسة لمجلس النواب الأميركي بأغلبية ضئيلة خلال الجلسة الأولى للكونغرس الـ117 التي أظهرت انقسامات عميقة.

وبيلوسي (80 عامًا) المتحدرة من كاليفورنيا والتي كانت الخصم الرئيسي لدونالد ترامب خلال الجزء الثاني من ولايته الرئاسية، تعود لتولّي منصبها لمدة سنتين رغم ممانعة بعض الأصوات في حزبها.

وحصلت بيلوسي على 216 صوتا مقابل 209 لمنافسها الجمهوري كيفين مكارثي. وأعطى جميع الجمهوريين الذين كانوا حاضرين أصواتهم لهذا الأخير، بينما لم يعط خمسة ديموقراطيين أصواتهم لبيلوسي.

وتم تجديد المقاعد البالغ عددها 435 في مجلس النواب بشكل متزامن مع الانتخابات الرئاسية.

وتبقى الأغلبية في مجلس الشيوخ معلّقة في الوقت الحالي بانتظار انتخابات فرعية في جورجيا، سيتقرر على أثرها ميزان القوى في واشنطن مع بدء ولاية الرئيس الديموقراطي المنتخب جو بايدن الذي يتولى منصبه في 20 يناير.

وستكون هذه رابع ولاية لبيلوسي، وهي أول امرأة في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة تشغل هذا المنصب المهم.
