قال عدد متزايد من المشرعين الجمهوريين ومسؤولين بالإدارة الامريكية لـCNN إنه يجب عزل الرئيس الأمريكي، دونالد ترامب، قبل يوم التنصيب في 20 يناير بأعقاب حادث اقتحام مبنى الكونغرس.

مسؤول رفيع سابق بالإدارة الأمريكية قال إن أفعال الرئيس مشينة بما فيه الكفاية لعزله حتى مع تبقي أيام قليلة على ولايته الرئاسية، قائلا: “اعتقد أن هذا (اقتحام الكونغرس) صدمة كبيرة للنظام.. فكيف تبقيه اسبوعين آخرين بعد ذلك؟”
ويذكر أن استخدام التعديل رقم 25 (بالدستور الأمريكي حول عزل الرئيس) يتطلب تأييد نائب الرئيس، مايك بنس وأغلبية أعضاء الحكومة لعزل ترامب استنادا على عدم أهليته للقيام بالمهام المنوطة به في المنصب.

وكشفت مصادر مطلعة على ما يجري في البيت الأبيض أن الحرس الرئاسي يكثف وجوده بصورة كبيرة ويأتي بالمزيد من عناصره في المناطق المحيطة عقب عملية اقتحام مبنى الكونغرس من قبل مؤيدين للرئيس الأمريكي، دونالد ترامب.
