اشترت شركة تصنيع السيارات الكهربائية الأمريكية تسلا ما قيمته 1.5 مليار دولار من عملات البيتكوين وأعلنت أنها ستقبل العملة الرقمية كشكل من أشكال الدفع في المستقبل القريب.
وأدى الإعلان إلى رفع سعر البيتكوين إلى مستوى قياسي بلغ أكثر من 43000 دولار على منصة التداول عبر الإنترنت بيت ستامب.
وقالت الشركة التي يمتلكها ايلون ماسك، في بيان للجنة الأوراق المالية والبورصات الأمريكية، اليوم الاثنين، إن القرار يتماشى مع سياسة الاستثمار الجديدة، التي تتوقع استثمارات في الأصول الرقمية، وكذلك الذهب والأصول الأخرى التي لم يتم تداولها بعد.
وارتفعت قيمة عملة البيتكوين إلى مستوى قياسي الأسبوع الماضي ، ويعزى ذلك جزئياً إلى دعم ماسك، بعد أن أضاف الرئيس التنفيذي علامة التجزئة هشتاج بيتكوين إلى سيرته الذاتية على تويتر.

كما تسبب أيضاً في ارتفاع العملة الرقمية الأقل شهرة الدوجكوين، والتي تم إطلاقها في الأصل على سبيل المزاح.
