اضطر 100 شخص على الأقل من سكان بلدة في جنوب أستراليا إلى ترك ديارهم، بعد نشوب حريق في جوارهم التهم حتى الآن 14 ألف هكتار على الأقل، وخرج عن السيطرة وأصبح يهدد سلامتهم.

وساعدت درجات الحرارة المرتفعة اليوم النيران على الاستمرار في الاشتعال والتهام المزيد من المساحات في “بلاكفورد”، مما اضطر السلطات إلى توجيه تحذيرات عاجلة بهذا الشأن إلى السكان.

وتم إخطار أهل “لوسينديل” بأنه فات الأوان لمغادرة المنطقة حيث أصبحت العديد من الطرقات مقطوعة بسبب النيران المشتعلة، والأسلم، كما تقول، هو الاحتماء بالهياكل العامة القريبة التي تسهر على سلامتها السلطات.

وجندت السلطات حوالي 200 من رجال المطافئ على الأرض و6 طائرات إطفاء في الجو، وتتوقع استمرار هذه الحرائق طيلة الليل على الأقل في انتظار تمكُّنِ فرق الإطفاء، التي ستعزز بالمدد غدا، من السيطرة عليها.
