أقال رئيس الوزراء الإثيوبي أبي أحمد ، يوم الأحد، قائد الجيش ورئيس المخابرات ووزير الشؤون الخارجية، في حين واصل الجيش هجوما بدأ قبل خمسة أيام على إقليم تيغراي بتوجيه ضربات جوية جديدة.

وأعلن أبي أحمد إقالة المسؤولين الثلاثة في وقت تصاعد فيه الصراع دافعا البلاد نحو حرب أهلية.

وذكر بيان صدر عن مكتب رئيس وزراء إثيوبيا أنّ برهان جولا، نائب قائد الجيش، “تمّت ترقيته إلى منصب قائد”، دون ذكر أسباب تنحية سلفه.

وكان البرلمان الإثيوبي اعتمد، يوم السبت، خطة إقالة المجلس والحكومة المحليين في تيغراي الذي يهدد بالانفصال. ويخشى من تحول خلافات مستمرة بين هذه المنطقة وأديس أبابا إلى حرب أهلية.
وقالت الأمم المتحدة إن هناك تسعة ملايين شخص معرضون للنزوح بسبب الصراع المحتدم في إقليم تيغراي، محذرة من أن إعلان الحكومة الاتحادية حالة الطوارئ يحول دون تقديم الغذاء ومساعدات أخرى.
