الجيريان اكسبرس: قالت الشرطة البريطانية، الأربعاء، إن سيارة صدمت عددا من الأشخاص، في ساحة “سلون سكوير” بالعاصمة لندن.

وأشارت وسائل إعلام بريطانية، نقلا عن شهود عيان، إلى أن السيارة دهست 8 أشخاص في وسط لندن.

وبعد الحادث بقليل، أعلنت الشرطة البريطانية “القبض على رجل في لندن، بسبب مخالفات في القيادة بعد واقعة سلون سكوير”، وذلك من دون الكشف عن تفاصيل أكثر.

وذكرت الشرطة أنه تم إخلاء المباني في المنطقة المحيطة بواقعة السيارة كإجراء احترازي.

وقالت الشرطة إنها تتعامل مع السيارة بساحة “سلون سكوير” في لندن، بينما قال نائب البرلمان عن المنطقة إنه سمع بأن عربة صعدت فوق الرصيف وصدمت المارة.

وكتب النائب غريغ هاندز على تويتر: “أسمع بأن عربة صعدت فوق الرصيف وصدمت مارة”.

وأضاف: “أتحقق من شهود عيان أن الجميع بخير”، حسبما نقلت “رويترز”.

وأوضحت الشرطة في بيان: “شرطة كينغستون وتشيلسي تتعامل مع مركبة مريبة في سلون سكوير. وفُرضت أطواق أمنية وهناك عمليات إغلاق حاليا.. ننتظر فحص المركبة”.
