تخطط شركة Daimler AG لزيادة حصتها إلى 20 بالمائة من أسهم أستون مارتن. ونتيجة لهذا الإستثمار، ستعمل المجموعة التي تقف وراء Benz و AMG على تعميق تعاونها مع شركة صناعة السيارات البريطانية في مجال مستقبل صناعة السيارات. وبذلك سيتم طرح طرازات جديدة، ونسخ متنوعة من الطرازات الحالية. وعلى الرغم أن سيارة DBX المتعددة الإستخدامات ليست قيد الدراسة، إلا أنه هنالك خياران من المرجح ظهورهما، سيكونان على غرار الكوبيه مثل BMW X6 وتصميم بسبعة مقاعد مثل BMX X7.
