اكتشف العلماء متغيرا جديدا من فيروس كورونا في أكثر من 12 مقاطعة من ولاية كاليفورنيا الأمريكية، مرتبط بإصابات تم تسجيلها في مقاطعة سانتا كلارا.
ولا يزال من غير الواضح ما إذا كان المتغير الجديد أكثر عدوى أم أنه أصبح من السهل التعرف عليه حيث تقوم المختبرات بتحديد التسلسل الجيني له.

وكشف عالم الفيروسات في جامعة كاليفورنيا تشارلز تشيو أن البديل الجديد في كاليفورنيا له ثلاث طفرات جديدة وتم اكتشافه لأول مرة في الدنمارك في مارس.

والمتغير L452R يختلف عن الطفرة شديدة العدوى التي تم تحديدها لأول مرة في بريطانيا وتعرف بـB.1.1.7 وتم اكتشافها في 18 ولاية، وفقا للبيانات الفدرالية الأمريكية.

وقالت الدكتورة سارة كودي مديرة إدارة الصحة العامة في مقاطعة سانتا كلارا: “يستمر هذا الفيروس في التحور والتكيف، وسجلت 90 إصابة به في سان خوسيه”.
