قالت صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز” إن الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن سيكشف اليوم الخميس عن مقترح بطرح حزمة تحفيز قيمتها نحو 1.9 تريليون دولار لإنعاش الاقتصاد المتضر بجائحة كورونا.

وتعهد بايدن خلال الحملة الانتخابية بالتعامل مع الجائحة بدرجة أكثر جدية من الرئيس دونالد ترامب.

وستعمل الإدارة الأمريكية الجديدة مع الكونغرس على إقرار الحزمة على وجه السرعة بعد تنصيب بايدن في 20 يناير كانون الثاني.

وذكر مصدر مطلع أن الحزمة تشمل مساعدات تحفيزية للأفراد بقيمة 1400 دولار.

وأظهرت بيانات جامعة “جونز هوبكينز” الأمريكية أن عدد الإصابات بفيروس كورونا في الولايات المتحدة تجاوز الـ23 مليون حالة.

وأشارت إلى أن إجمالي عدد الضحايا في البلاد تجاوز حاجر 383 ألف وفاة.

وتحتل الولايات المتحدة المركز الأول عالميا من حيث عدد الإصابات والوفيات بفيروس كورونا.
