Land Rover at the 2021 Dakar Rally with the new Defender

The new Land Rover Defender will play a vital role in the world’s most extreme motorsports event, specifically at the Dakar Rally with a pair of standard models joining Bahrain Raid Xtreme as support vehicles for 2021.

Packages for difficult conditions

Two new Defender 110 SUV will have to cope with extreme conditions, traversing desert dunes, mud, grass and boulders, carrying vital supplies, crew and equipment for the team and drivers. The BRX drivers’ squad includes nine-time world rally champion Sebastian Loeb and two-time Dakar Rally winner Nanni Roma.

The same showroom modules will also provide essential support for crew members who will camp, eat and sleep in the P400 models through the 12 arduous stages of desert driving.

The Lightweight Hybrid Technology Indus Silver models with the Explorer package that includes the Expedition roof rack are powered by the 400hp Ingenium petrol engine. These models have a high air intake and wheel arch and exterior protection. It is also equipped with a ceiling ladder that makes easy access to the ceiling storage box, which will help BRX carry all necessary tools.
