الجيريان اكسبرس: في وقت يتسارع به تفشي فيروس كورونا المستجد رغم إجراءات العزل المفروضة، تقدم وزير الصحة في تشيلي جايم ماناليش باستقاله، السبت.
وقال الرئيس سباستيان بينيرا بعد أسبوع من الجدل المستمر حول ارتفاع عدد الإصابات بفيروس كورونا: “أشكر جايم ماناليش لتفانيه”.

واستقال الوزير السبت، بعد أن عرفت تشيلي الجمعة أسوأ حصيلة لضحايا الوباء مع تسجيل 222 وفاة و6754 إصابة خلال 24 ساعة.

وفي اليوم نفسه، قال المسؤول في وزارة الصحة أرتورو زونيغا، إن “الوضع في بلدنا يزداد سوءا، خاصة في منطقة العاصمة” سانتياغو.

ومنذ ظهور الإصابة الأولى في 3 مارس، سجلت تشيلي 167355 إصابة و3101 وفاة.

وتزداد الإصابات بشكل مطرد في البلد ذي الـ18 مليون نسمة، وذلك رغم فرض إجراءات العزل على نحو 7 ملايين ساكن في سانتياغو منذ أكثر من شهر.

وفرضت الإجراءات نفسها في مدينتي فالباريزو وفينا دل مار، منذ الجمعة.
