قالت شركة أمازون، الاثنين، إنها ستدفع 500 مليون دولار على شكل مكافآت لموظفيها في الخطوط الأمامية وشركائها الذين يعملون أثناء أزمة فيروس كورونا.

وأضافت أمازون، في منشور على مدونتها، أن الموظفين والشركاء الذين يعملون في شركة التجارة الإلكترونية حتى يونيو سيحصلون على مكافآت تتراوح من 150 دولارا إلى 3000 دولار.

ويواجه أكبر بائع تجزئة على الإنترنت في العالم، والذي يسلم حوالي 10 مليارات من المنتجات سنويا، تمحيصا شديدا من أعضاء في الكونغرس الأميركي ونقابات عمالية أميركية بشأن ما إذا كان يفعل ما يكفي لحماية موظفيه من جائحة كوفيد-19.
