شارك الوزير الأول الجزائري عبد العزيز جراد، بصفته ممثلا لرئيس الجمهورية، عبد المجيد تبون، في اجتماع مجموعة الاتصال حول ليبيا، الذي عقد بتقنية التحاضر الـمرئي، يوم 19 ماي 2020.

وجدد السيد العزيز جراد موقف الجزائر الثابت الداعي لكافة الفاعلين الليبيين إلى ضرورة انتهاج سبيل الحوار والـمصالحة الوطنية كبديل وحيد للحفاظ على وحدة ليبيا وأمنها واستقرارها، وبالتالي، الإبتعاد عن شبح الانقسام والعنف والإقتتال بين الأشقاء.

كما أعرب عن عزم الجزائر على الاستمرار في بذل الجهود الدبلوماسية بغرض التوصل إلى تسوية سلمية للأزمة الليبية.

وجدير بالتذكير أن مجموعة الاتصال الـمذكورة قد تم إنشاؤها طبقا للقرارات الـمتخذة خلال القمة الثالثة والثلاثون (33) للإتحاد الإفريقي وبناء على توصية مجلس السلم والأمن للمنظمة. ويتمثل الهدف منها في ترقية تنسيق الجهود الدولية بما يفضي إلى حل دائم للأزمة الليبية عن طريق الحوار الشامل.
