أعلن البيت الأبيض أن زعماء دول مجموعة السبع الكبار يدعون لإصلاح منظمة الصحة العالمية، ويؤكدون التزامهم بضمان طريقة منسقة للتعامل مع جائحة فيروس كورونا.

وقال البيت الأبيض في أعقاب مؤتمر لزعماء الدول السبع، عقد عبر دائرة تلفزيونية مغلقة، اليوم الخميس، إن “زعماء G7 اتفقوا على أن يبقوا ملتزمين باتخاذ كل الإجراءات الضرورية لضمان رد عالمي منسق على هذه الأزمة الصحية والمصائب الإنسانية والاقتصادية المتعلقة بها، وضمان تعافي قوي ومستدام”.

وأضاف بيان البيت الأبيض أن الزعماء أكدوا أن دول المجموعة تساهم بأكثر من مليار دولار سنويا في دعم منظمة الصحة العالمية.

وأشار إلى أن “جزءا كبيرا من النقاش تمحور حول نقص الشفافية وسوء التعامل المزمن مع الجائحة من قبل المنظمة”.

وأضاف أن “الزعماء دعوا إلى مراجعة دقيقة (لأسلوب عمل المنظمة) وإصلاحها”.

يذكر أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب أعلن هذا الأسبوع عن وقف تمويل الولايات المتحدة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، متهما إياها بالتقصير في التعامل مع فيروس كورونا.
