قال تقرير لصحيفة “تايمز” البريطانية إن الزعيم الكوري الشمالي كيم جونغ أون يقوم بإعدام تجار العملات، في إطار إجراءات صارمة لمواجهة المخاطر الاقتصادية التي تسبب بها فيروس كورونا.

وبحسب التقرير يجري كيم تعديلات محفوفة بالمخاطر في الاقتصاد الكوري الشمالي، ويشدد قبضته على الاقتصاد، مهددا بعكس إصلاحات السوق للحد من الدمار الناجم من عزل بلاده جراء الجائحة العالمية.

ودفع ذلك كوريا الشمالية إلى عزل نفسها عن الصين، شريكها التجاري الوحيد، ما تسبب بإعاقة الواردات وارتفاع أسعار الغذاء.

ولمنع التضخم الذي لا يمكن السيطرة عليه، يبدو أن حكومة كوريا الشمالية تعمد إلى رفع قيمة العملة المحلية، لذلك قرر كيم اعتقال تجار العملة الذين يبادلون الدولار الأمريكي بالوون الكوري الشمالي.

وبحسب إفادة إعلامية لوكالة الاستخبارات الكورية الجنوبية، جرى إعدام تاجر عملة واحد على الأقل الشهر الماضي.
