قالت صحيفة “هندوستان تايمز” إن نيودلهي أبلغت الرياض بأنها تشعر بـ “انشغال جدي” بشأن ظهور إقليم جامو وكشمير منفصلا عن الهند في خريطة على ورقة نقدية سعودية جديدة من فئة 20 ريالا.

وقالت وزارة الخارجية الهندية على لسان الناطق باسمها، أنوراغ سريفاستافا، حسب الصحيفة: “لقد أبلغنا انشغالنا الجدي إلى المملكة العربية السعودية بشأن هذا التحريف الجسيم للحدود الإقليمية الخارجية للهند في ورقة بنكية رسمية وقانونية للمملكة العربية السعودية”. وأضاف المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الهندية قائلا: “لقد طلبنا من المملكة العربية السعودية اتخاذ خطوات تصحيحية عاجلة بهذا الشأن”.

وصدرت هذه الورقة النقدية يوم 24 أكتوبر الجاري احتفالا بتنظيم المملكة العربية السعودية قمة مجموعة الـ20 (G20) يومي 20 و21 من شهر نوفمبر المقبل.
