إنكمش الإقتصاد الصيني في الربع الأول من العام الجاري للمرة الأولى منذ العام 1992 جراء جائحة كورونا والتدابير التي تم اتخاذها لمكافحة انتشار الفيروس المستجد.

وأظهرت بيانات رسمية اليوم الجمعة أن الاقتصاد الصيني انخفض بنسبة 6.8% في الفترة من يناير وحتى مارس من عام 2020 ، مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من العام الماضي.

وجاء الانكماش التاريخي لثاني أكبر اقتصاد في العالم بعدما تسببت جهود احتواء فيروس كورونا، الذي ظهر أول مرة في الصين في أواخر العام الماضي، في إغلاق المصانع ووسائل النقل والمتاجر.

وتشهد اقتصادات كبرى أخرى حاليا إغلاقات مماثلة تسببت في تعطيل التجارة العالمية، وتشير إلى أن تعافي الاقتصاد الصيني ليس قريبا على الأرجح.

والانكماش الصيني الحالي المعلن أكبر من توقعات المحللين، الذين توقعوا انخفاضا نسبته 6.6%، كما يأتي بعد نمو نسبته 6% في الربع الأخير من عام 2019.

وفي تقرير نشره صندوق النقد الدولي مؤخرا، فإنه من المتوقع نمو الاقتصاد الصيني خلال العام الجاري بنسبة 1% فقط، على أن ينمو بنسبة 8.5% في العام القادم.
