طور خبراء عسكريون أمريكيون اختبارا جديدا يمكنه الكشف عن وجود فيروس كورونا في الدم في غضون 24 ساعة بعد الإصابة. جاء ذلك يوم الجمعة في صحيفة الغارديان البريطانية.

ويقول الخبراء، إن نظام الاختبار الجديد بإمكانه الكشف عن الفيروس ليس فقط عندما تبدأ أعراض الإصابة به، وإنما أيضا قبل بضعة أيام من بدء نقل العدوى من المصاب إلى الآخرين.
وكان المشروع الذي تم تطويره من قبل وكالة مشاريع البحوث المتقدمة التابعة لوزارة الدفاع (DARPA) يهدف في البداية، إلى الكشف المبكر عن التسمم البكتريولوجي والسلاح الكيميائي، ومن ثم أعيد تصميم وتطوير هذا المشروع من جديد مع تفشي وباء كورونا.

وينتظر الخبراء إذنا رسميا من السلطات للسماح بالتطبيق، مرجحين أن يتم البدء بإجراء الاختبار في غضون أسبوع وبالتالي سيكون بإمكانهم إجراء الاختبارات في النصف الثاني من مايو الحالي.
