ذكرت المجلة الأمريكية “ميليتري ووتش ماغزين”” المتخصصة في الشؤون العسكرية وصفقات السلاح والتكنولوجيا الحربية أن الجزائر تستعد لاستلام سرب من 16 طائرة مقاتلة ثقيلة من نوع “سو 30 م ك أ فلانكر” (Su-30MKA Flanker) الروسية لتعزيز أسطولها الحربي الجوي ذي “الـ 58 طائرة” في إطار تحديث قواتها الجوية.

وأوضحت المجلة” أن الجزائر كانت قد عقدت صفقة مع موسكو في عام 2019 تُقدر قيمتها بـ 1,8 مليار دولار لاقتناء 30 مقاتلة روسية جديدة، من بينها، إلى جانب طائرات “سو 30″، 14 طائرة ميغ 29 م (MiG-29M) متوسطة الوزن مجهزة بأحدث التكنولوجيا العسكرية الإلكترونية الروسية، والتي شرعت القوات المسلحة الجزائرية في تسلمها.

وتتوفر في النوعان من الطائرات الحربية الروسية قدرات قتالية قوية جوية/جوية، وجوية/أرضية، وحتى جوية/بحرية مضادة للسفن العدوة، قادرة على استخدام عدة أنواع من الذخائر، من بينها الصواريخ المضادة للسفن من نوع (Kh-35) و (Kh-31) والصواريخ (R-77) جو/جو الموجهة بالرادار.
