تمكن رئيس الوزراء البريطاني بوريس جونسون الأربعاء، من تجنب تمرد من داخل معسكره المحافظ، متهما رئيس مجلس العموم بالتعامل مع النواب بـ”ازدراء”.

وهدد 50 نائبا محافظا بدعم مذكرة تطالب بأن يكون للبرلمانيين كلمتهم في التدابير المتخذة من الحكومة لمنع تفشي وباء “كوفيد- 19” متهمين السلطة التنفيذية بالحكم “بإصدار مراسيم”.

من جانبها، رفضت رئيس مجلس العموم ليندسي هويل، السماح للنواب بإبداء رأيهم في هذا الاقتراح، معتبرا أن “الوقت ضيق لنقاشات مناسبة”، لكنها شنت هجوما لاذعا على الحكومة والطريقة التي فرضت فيها القيود الجديدة.

وأعلنت: “أعتمد على الحكومة لتصحيح وضع أعتبره غير مقبول إطلاقا”.

من جهته، قال جونسون: “أعتمد على الحكومة لاستعادة ثقة هذا المجلس وعدم التعامل مع أعضائه بازدراء، كما فعلت هويل”.

وانتقدت هويل مرارا الحكومة لإعلانها لوسائل الإعلام التدابير الجديدة المرتبطة بالوباء قبل اطلاع البرلمان عليها ولعدم إفساح وقت كاف للنواب لمناقشتها قبل بدء تطبيقها.
