إنتخب البطل الجزائري في الوثب العالي “حماد عبد الرحمان” صبيحة اليوم السبت، رئيسا جديدا للجنة الأولمبية الجزائرية خلفا للرئيس السابق مصطفى بيراف.
وتم إنتخاب حماد عبد الرحمان بالأغلبية الساحقة أمام كل من المترشحين سمية فرغاني، ومبروك قربوعة، بعد إنسحاب وزير الشباب والرياضة الأسبق سيد علي لبيب.

هذا ويعتبر صاحب برونزية أولمبياد 2000 في سيدني الرئيس ال14 في تاريخ رئاسة الهيئة الأولمبية منذ إنشائها سنة 1963 عندما ترأسها لأول مرّة محند معوش (1963 – 1965) .

وتداول على رئاسة اللجنة الاولمبية كل من حاج عمر دحمون في الفترة الممتدة (1965 -1968)، محمد زرقيني ( 1968- 1983)، عبد النور بكّة (1983 – 1984)، محمد صالح منتوري (1984- 1988)،سيد محمدبغدادي (1988 -1989)، محمد صالخ منتوري (1989 -1993) ، سيد علي لبيب (1993 – 1996)، مصطفى براف (1996- 1998)، مصطفى لعرفاوي (1998- 2001)، مصطفى براف (2001- 2009)، رشيد حنيفي (2009- 2013)، مصطفى براف (2013 -2020 ).
